CECTAS 5.0

Center of Excellence in Technological Convergence for Food Security 5.0

Lines of Research

CECTAS 5.0 structures its strategic lines of research under an integrative approach that combines emerging technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), big data analytics, 3D printing of food matrices, augmented reality (AR), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Point of Care (POC) systems to comprehensively address the challenges of food loss and waste. Recognizing that food is lost throughout the supply chain

Study Objects of the Lines (Systems)

At CECTAS 5.0, the lines of research are structured as integrated systems of technological convergence, designed to address key challenges in food security and environmental sustainability.

The STFS and ISEC systems

These systems designed to minimize Food Loss (FL) through advanced technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and data analytics.

The GT and NTPT systems

These systems focus on reducing Food Waste (FW) by promoting circular economy strategies, waste valorization, and efficient food processing.

The RACC system.

This system focuses on the integration of vertical smart agriculture in urban areas, addressing resilience to climate change in a context where 68% of the global population is expected to live in cities by 2050.
